The bathroom means a lot to our family. It is possibly the most prized time we get as individuals, and in some lucky cases, it’s the only “private” time you may get in your day! We try to make it count. Let’s just start with the fact there are 6 of us in this house, and the majority are girls (4:2 ratio). We have a lot of fights that start in the bathroom. There is a lot of activity, as well as vital conversation that happens in this room. Pictured above, as you can tell, a Ton of Mischief also happens in the bathroom! We under utilize the “courtesy to knock” which creates a lot of frustration for the bigger people in our house, if you can catch my drift. Having an audience for all your natural body functions isn’t always desirable.
Pictured above is a prime example of the quick catastrophes that are the result of said “bathroom mischief”! Evy was 2, and Isla was 1 yr in this photo. An incident like this a few months back resulted in a plumber, Roto-Rooter, and city Public Works crew unclogging a blockage that backed up the sewer system that connected to our neighboring street. I thank God and the generosity of city crews in our town that fixed the whole mess. I will never take any of these professions for granted. Ever! Again!
Bathroom time is a privilege in our house hold and we are creatively mastering the time we all get in this prized sanctuary. One day at a time, we’ll get it right.
